Yoko Taro probably ended up with Nier

Yoko Taro is known for being behind the Nier series (and its predecessor, Drakenguard), but the former can be pushed back forever. A geeky game director in a bizarre mask teased him for leaving Nier behind forever.

In a vacation message recorded on December 22, Taro discussed with Nier producer Yosuke Saito and series composer Keiichi Okabe about last year and the success of the sale of the Nier Replicant ver. 1.22474487139 (over 1 million copies according to the team). This update begins with a friendly conversation between old friends who travel abroad to meet fans, what they want for Christmas, or complain about shoulder issues.

However, when Saito asks Taro if he has any new information to share about the near series, Taro replies bluntly, “No, nothing!” When Saito asks if he doesn’t want to do anything more with YoRHa, Taro half-jokingly said, “Announced today. Guys! The near series is over!” Click on the embedded tweet below to view the video.

Of course, Taro could easily joke around, and Saito immediately called him. Taro admits that giving up on Nier could be a lie. “But… you never know… you can do more when you get a big ‘old pile of money’…”
