Splatoon 3, Co-op Mode, Salmon Run: The Next Wave

In today’s 40-minute Nintendo Direct, we got a sneak peek at Splatoon 3’s frantic cooperative multiplayer mode.

According to the trailer, four players fall into abandoned gear surrounded by terrifying aquatic creatures trying to bring the squad to its knees. The Splatoon series’ cute and lovable aesthetic is brilliantly juxtaposed with ominous bloody skylines, dissonant music, and tense third-person combat. Players will face off against several powerful bosses in a wave-based system with increasing challenges based on success. Use a variety of paintball guns to slow or defeat enemies, move essential items such as eggs to a safe area, and transform into a machine that sprays paint. You can even get a chance to catch giant salmon if you have what you need.
