Shoot-Em-Up, Sol Cresta by Platinum Games, February Release Date

Platinum Games, creators of Nier Automata and Astral Chain, announced in August that they are reviving the 30-year-old series with Sol Cresta. It was originally scheduled for a re-release in December, but in November, Platinum’s lead game designer, Hideki Kamiya, revealed that Sol Cresta on “Very Sorry Stream” has been delayed. No new release date was announced at the time, but now we know when this arcade-style shooter will be available on February 22nd.

Platinum confirmed the new release date in the “Sol Cresta Release Date Forum Live Stream” held last weekend as reported by Eurogamer. Platinum says Sol Cresta will launch next month on PlayStation 4, Switch and PC on February 22nd. The price of this game is $40.

When it was announced last year, Sol Cresta turned out to be the sequel to the vertically scrolling arcade games Moon Cresta and Terra Cresta developed by Nichibutsu. Like previous Cresta games, Sol Cresta features spaceships flying across the galaxy, the ability to take out enemies, and a more classic vertical shooter arcade fashion. Much like the original game that players were able to play almost 40 years ago, Sol Cresta allows players to dock with their allies.

When Sol Cresta was first revealed, Kamiya said, “I want to make all kinds of games, not just action games.” Kamiya seems to have said this because Platinum is best known for action titles like Nier Automata, Astral Chain, and Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance. vertical shooters.

Sol Cresta launches on February 22, 2022 on PlayStation 4, Switch and PC, priced at $40.
