PlayStation Announces Status with 'Special Focus' on Games from Japanese Publishers
PlayStation released the State of Play presentation tomorrow, March 9th at 2pm. PT/4:00 PM Central Time/5:00 PM ET with a special focus on games from Japanese publishers.
This news comes via a new blog post announced today, and this State of Play will run for about 20 minutes. While it highlights games from Japanese publishers, PlayStation says it will also offer a few updates from other developers as well. Here’s what the PlayStation Blog had to say:
“A new State of Play has begun! Join us this Wednesday, March 9 at 2:00 PM PT/5:00 PM EST/11 PM CET, new reveals and glances for PS5 and PS4 titles Please check for updates that turn it off Note: We don’t, there are updates for PlayStation VR2 titles or hardware in this broadcast.
The show will take about 20 minutes with a special focus on highlighting great games from our beloved Japanese publishers, and will feature a few updates from other developers around the world as well.”
As always, PlayStation will be broadcasting State of Play streams on its YouTube and Twitch channels. The safest bet, given Sony’s emphasis on games from Japanese publishers, is the PlayStation console exclusive Final Fantasy XVI or Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin, which was first unveiled at Sony’s showcase, with a release on March 15th.
As for “a few updates from other developers around the world”, it looks like a lock-in considering that God of War: Ragnarok is due out this year and we haven’t seen much of it yet, except for a few trailers. Of course, this is all just conjecture. Fortunately, the 20-minute State of Play has just over 24 hours left, so you don’t have to wait long.
