GSC Game World Sets Stalker 2 Development as 'Excluded' amid ongoing Ukrainian conflict

After expressing support for their home country of Ukraine last week, GSC Game World is working on the upcoming shooter S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: The heart of Chernobyl in “interference” during an ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

After weeks of escalating tensions, Russia invaded Ukraine, killing hundreds of Ukrainian civilians. GSC Game World, 11 Bit Studios, Bungie and many other studios have expressed their support for Ukraine. Ukraine-based GSC Game World revealed in a new video that Stalker 2 has been removed to focus on employee safety and support.

Here’s everything the video said:

“Last week we were editing a video for a motion capture studio. We wanted to show you how the cutscenes were made. We had time to watch videos, write scripts, and talk with actors. Last week was several years ago. On February 24, Russia declared war on Ukraine and sent rockets, tanks and soldiers to our homeland. Our country must fight for survival again. This seems to be the price of freedom. This video is our answer to [] ‘How are you?’ question. Now we are committed to helping our employees and their families survive. Game development has moved on to a side job, but we will definitely continue after the win. Glory to Ukraine”

It is unknown whether Stalker 2, which was delayed to December earlier this year, will be released later. To be honest, video game lag doesn’t matter in the slightest to anything that happens in Ukraine. Hope everyone at GSC Game World is safe.
