Crytek Hires Hitman 3 Director to Lead Crysis 4
Crytek announced in January that Crysis 4 is real and in “early stages” of development. Since then, the company has been silent about the sequel, but this week the studio revealed that the game has a new director.
IO Interactive’s Hitman 3 Game Director Mattias Engström, revealed on Twitter yesterday, will oversee Crysis 4. He’s wasting his time because Crytek revealed that he’s starting work on a new first-person shooter this week.
“Mattias Engström, known at IO Interactive as Game Director on Hitman 3, will join the Crysis family as the 4th Game Director for the Crysis franchise starting this week.”

Engström is a great fit for Crysis 4, especially considering how well Hitman 3 came out. If you haven’t played Hitman 3 yet, you should, and if you’re crazy about Crysis 4, you can play the first three games of Crysis Remastered Trilogy.
