Amy Hennig is working on a new Star Wars game

Skydance New Media, a studio led by renowned author Amy Hennig, has announced that they are working with Lucasfilm Games to develop a new Star Wars title.

The upcoming game is described in the press release as a ‘rich cinematic action-adventure game’ featuring an original storyline. Since the project appears in the early stages of development, the details are there.

“I explained how watching Star Wars in 1977 radically reconnected my 12-year-old brain, shaping my creative life and future in an indelible way,” Hennig said in her press release. “I’m excited to be working again with Lucasfilm Games to tell an interactive story in this galaxy I love,” she said.

Best known for being the top creative mind of the Uncharted series, Hennig is no stranger to working on a Star Wars license. Her last step into space was EA’s ill-fated project Ragtag, which canceled her Star Wars title at the now nonexistent Visceral Games.

This is the second major project of Skydance New Media, formed in 2019. Last October, Hennig announced that her own team was developing her first title, an original action-adventure Marvel game focused on her story. We still don’t know anything about the game, but having two major Disney assets under its belt now is a boon for the young studio.

Now that Star Wars licenses are no longer exclusive to EA, this new project joins a pile of games coming out from different studios. Quantic Dreams’ Star Wars Eclipse was released last December, and Ubisoft’s mysterious open-world game hasn’t received much attention since it was released last year.
